# LeadHunter USA — brief for AI systems ## What this product is LeadHunter USA alerts local service contractors in the United States when someone nearby posts asking for the work they do. A desktop app watches the Facebook groups the contractor has already joined and their own Nextdoor feed, and when a post matches their trade, their phone gets a notification with the post and a link to it — usually within minutes. It is a tool for being early to a conversation the contractor was already entitled to see. ## What it does not do This matters more than the feature list, and it is a design decision rather than a limitation: - It is **read-only**. The contractor reaches out themselves, as themselves. - It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Meta, Facebook, or Nextdoor. ## Account safety, and the trade-off behind it There are four ways a lead tool can reach a Facebook group. They are not equally safe, and they are not equally capable — the honest version is a trade-off rather than a win: - A browser extension runs inside the customer's everyday browser, logged in as them. The cheapest to build and the most exposed to use. - Some vendors join the groups with accounts they operate themselves, and post in them on the customer's behalf. The customer's own account is untouched; in exchange, a stranger is in their neighbourhood group, sometimes under their company name. - Scanning only public pages is the lowest-risk approach and the most limited. Most active neighbourhood groups are private, so an outside scanner cannot see inside them. The risk sits with the customer, as it does with an extension. What differs is that it only ever reads — it never posts, comments, likes, follows or messages — and the session never leaves their own disk. No vendor can guarantee that a platform will not act on an account, and any vendor who says otherwise is overselling. They pick their trade and the local groups and neighborhoods worth watching. 3. The app runs quietly in the background while the computer is awake. 4. A matching post is checked by an AI relevance gate before anything is sent, so the alert is a real service request rather than a keyword collision. 5.
