Alerts
Last updated:
An alert is one neighbor's post, matched to one contractor's trade, delivered to that contractor's phone.
What triggers an alert
- LeadHunter USA sends an alert when someone posts in a Facebook group the contractor has joined, or in their own Nextdoor feed, asking for work in the contractor’s trade.
- LeadHunter USA checks each candidate post with an AI relevance step before anything is sent, so an alert is a service request rather than a keyword collision.
- LeadHunter USA matches against the job types chosen in the account, not against the trade name alone — a handyman who does not take on drywall can leave drywall out.
- LeadHunter USA sends one alert per post, and never sends the same post twice.
Where the alert lands
| Phone | Push notification in the LeadHunter USA app, on iOS and Android |
|---|---|
| Web | The same lead appears in the dashboard at /dashboard/leads |
| Not used for lead alerts | |
| SMS | Not used for lead alerts |
| Timing | Seconds to minutes after the post |
The phone app is the delivery channel. A contractor who is on a roof does not read an email digest, and a lead that is read an hour later is usually answered by then.
What an alert contains
- The text of the post, as the neighbor wrote it.
- The name of the community it was posted in.
- A direct link that opens the original post, so the contractor replies as themselves, in their own words.
When alerts are not sent
- LeadHunter USA does not send alerts between 10 PM and 7 AM, and starts again by itself in the morning.
- LeadHunter USA sends nothing while the computer running the desktop app is asleep or shut down.
- LeadHunter USA sends nothing for a subscription that has ended, until a plan is chosen again.
If alerts stop unexpectedly, the checks are listed under Setup & help in the dashboard.
