What it never does

Last updated:

The most useful thing to know about a tool that sits next to a contractor's own Facebook and Nextdoor accounts is the list of things it will not do with them.

On the platforms

  • LeadHunter USA never posts.
  • LeadHunter USA never comments on a post, including on the post that produced an alert.
  • LeadHunter USA never likes, reacts or follows.
  • LeadHunter USA never sends a message or a friend request.
  • LeadHunter USA never joins a group, and never asks to join one.
  • LeadHunter USA never operates an account of its own inside a community.

With the lead

  • LeadHunter USA never contacts the person who wrote the post.
  • LeadHunter USA never replies on a customer’s behalf, and never drafts a reply that is sent without them.
  • LeadHunter USA does not sell leads and is not a lead marketplace.
  • LeadHunter USA does not claim a lead is exclusive, and does not sell territory. The post is public to that group, so being early is the advantage rather than ownership.

With the account

  • LeadHunter USA never asks for a Facebook or Nextdoor password.
  • LeadHunter USA never logs in to a platform on a customer’s behalf.
  • LeadHunter USA never watches a group the contractor has not joined.

What is not promised

No vendor in this category can guarantee how a platform will treat an account, and one that offers such a guarantee is overselling. LeadHunter USA states what it does and does not do, and the customer stays responsible for their own account activity — the same position set out in the terms. The longer discussion of that question, including how the other tools in this category get their access, is at /will-lead-tools-get-my-account-banned.
