Fixing a problem with Alerts

Reconnect Facebook or Nextdoor, sign in again, restart a stuck scanner, and other fixes for LeadHunter USA Alerts.
Scout says: Hat’s a bit crooked. Let’s straighten it out.
Pick what you see
Facebook or Nextdoor wants me to verify
Sometimes Facebook or Nextdoor asks you to prove it’s really you. That account stops scanning until you do.
On Windows
Click the LeadHunter USA icon. Then click Reconnect Facebook or Reconnect Nextdoor.
Or right-click the icon and click the line that ends in ⚠ sign in again.
On a Mac
Click the LeadHunter USA icon in the menu bar. Click the line that ends in ⚠ sign in again.
Finish the check in the window that opens. Then close that window, and scanning starts again.
If you do nothing, LeadHunter USA tries again by itself after about 8 hours.
It says “Sign in to start” or “please sign in again”
LeadHunter USA is signed out on this computer. Nothing is scanned until you sign in.
On Windows
Right-click the LeadHunter USA icon and click Sign in….
On a Mac
Click the LeadHunter USA icon in the menu bar and click Sign in….
Your browser opens. Sign in with the same email you use on the website.
If your browser asks to open LeadHunter USA, allow it.
Facebook or Nextdoor isn’t connected any more
Sometimes Facebook or Nextdoor signs LeadHunter USA out. Leads from that account stop until you reconnect.
On Windows
Click the LeadHunter USA icon. Then click Connect Facebook or Connect Nextdoor.
Or right-click the icon and click Connect Facebook… or Connect Nextdoor….
On a Mac
Click the LeadHunter USA icon in the menu bar. Click Connect Facebook… or Connect Nextdoor….
Log in on the page that opens. Then close that window.
I closed the Connect window too soon
It won’t open again by itself. You can reopen it from the LeadHunter USA menu.
On Windows
Right-click the LeadHunter USA icon and click Finish setup….
On a Mac
Click the LeadHunter USA icon in the menu bar and click Finish setup….
It starts again from the beginning. Finish setup… only shows while Facebook or Nextdoor isn’t connected.
See Sign in… there instead? Click it first. If the Connect window doesn’t open after that, use Finish setup….
“Last scan” stopped moving
From 7 AM to 10 PM, LeadHunter USA scans every 7 to 15 minutes.
If Last scan hasn’t changed in over an hour, the scanner may be stuck.
On Windows
Right-click the LeadHunter USA icon. Choose Troubleshooting ▸ Restart Scanner.
On a Mac
Click the LeadHunter USA icon in the menu bar. Choose Troubleshooting ▸ Restart Scanner.
Still stuck? Click Quit LeadHunter USA in the same menu. Then open LeadHunter USA again.
On Windows
To open it again, open the Start menu and click LeadHunter USA.
On a Mac
To open it again, open your Applications folder and double-click LeadHunter USA.
It says scanning is paused
Scanning was turned off. No leads come in until you turn it back on.
On Windows
Click the LeadHunter USA icon. Turn on the Scanning switch.
On a Mac
Click the LeadHunter USA icon in the menu bar and choose Open Settings. Click Resume scanning.
You can also turn on Auto-scan in Settings on the website.
I got a message about an update
LeadHunter USA updates itself. It restarts between scans, so there’s nothing for you to do.
On Windows
To check for an update yourself, right-click the icon. Choose About LeadHunter USA ▸ Check for updates….
On a Mac
To check for an update yourself, click the icon in the menu bar. Choose About LeadHunter USA ▸ Check for updates….
