Adding sales tax

Set your tax rate once, choose which items are taxed, and change the rate on one quote or invoice when you need to.

Scout says: You pick the rate. I do the math.

Set it once

  1. Step 1: Open Quote & invoice settings.
  2. Step 2: Choose Add tax, Included in prices or No tax.
  3. Step 3: With Add tax, type your Tax rate, from 0% to 25%.
  4. Step 4: Want a different word than “Tax” on your documents? Fill in Tax name (optional).
  5. Step 5: Press Save settings.

On one quote or invoice

Each item has its own tax box, so labor can be untaxed and parts taxed.

You can change the rate, or pick No tax, on one document. Your settings stay the same.

A discount comes off before tax.

Good to know

LeadHunter USA doesn’t look up tax rates and doesn’t file taxes for you. Check the rate for your city and state.

Documents you already sent keep the rate they were sent with.
