Making a quote
Last updated:
Build a quote from your price list, offer up to 3 options, add a discount, and choose what the customer sees.
Scout says: Price it once, save it, reuse it on every job.
Build it
- Step 1: Open the customer and press New quote.
- Step 2: Give it a Job title. Add a Summary of work if you like.
- Step 3: Add items: a description, a quantity and a price. Items you used before show up as suggestions, with the last price you charged.
- Step 4: Check the total on the right. The preview shows exactly what your customer will see.
Your draft saves itself as you go. It gets its number when you send it.
Give the customer options
Press Add option to offer 2 or 3 versions of the job, like Repair, Replace standard and Replace premium.
Each option has its own items and total. The customer sees them side by side and approves one. Tax, discount and deposit apply to each.
Discount, tax, deposit and dates
A discount can be a dollar amount or a percent. It comes off before tax.
For tax, see Adding sales tax. For a deposit, see Asking for a deposit.
Every quote has a Valid until date. You set the usual length in Quote & invoice settings.
What the customer sees
Choose Line prices, Quantities or Total only. The preview changes as you pick.
You can also Download PDF to print it or attach it yourself.
